Featured Wedding:Katie Kellis & Alex Bates

Katie and Alex’s ceremony and reception were held at Loma Linda Events and about 150 people attended. For the wedding, Katie and Alex used Courtney Keen-Flores of Villa Flora for flowers, Hector Solis for the music, Marie Q for photography, Charlesa Sims at New Creations for the cakes and The Dove’s Nest for catering. I coordinated the wedding and provided the linens.


Katie and her mom, Carolyn Kellis came to me with wanting something different. They knew they wanted to incorporate the natural elements of the venue, Loma Linda. They also knew they wanted to incorporate the color of robin’s egg blue—they liked birds and wanted a more vintage look than modern. By looking at the finished product, I think we were able to capture all of their wishes with the earthy, natural look in all of the decor elements from the registry table to the ceremony and throughout the reception.

For me, the best moment of the wedding was watching Katie and Carolyn and seeing their expressions as the decor began taking transition throughout the day. I totally enjoyed Katie and Carolyn’s respect for each other and the excitement they shared in seeing the planning process progress. I also loved seeing their emotions on the wedding day when they saw everything come to fruition.
