Of all the Republican candidates for judge of the 40th Judicial District Court, I offer the best possible combination of qualifications. Not only do I possess more than 16 years of solid legal experience, but I will bring an energetic and organized approach to the bench.

Having both prosecution and defense credentials, along with hundreds of hours of courtroom and trial experience, makes me uniquely qualified to serve as judge. Furthermore, I have amassed experience in a wide variety of areas, including juvenile law, sex crimes, family law, cases involving the death penalty and civil law.  Additionally, my experience as both a prosecution and defense attorney will enable me to see and understand the full scope of legal issues.

A graduate of Texas Wesleyan School of Law, I landed a job as a prosecutor in the Dallas District Attorney’s office right out of law school. Later, I became assistant district attorney in the Ellis County D.A.’s office, where I specialized in juvenile cases and sex crimes. In this capacity, I worked closely with Ellis County Child Protective Services, Ellis County Child Advocacy Center and law enforcement throughout the county. I opened my private law practice in criminal defense in Waxahachie in 2002 and have been working tirelessly to protect the rights of the individual ever since.

As a long-time resident of Ellis County, I have been involved in community and business organizations. I have been active in the party, serving as both precinct chair and as a volunteer. My husband, Bob, and I have raised four children. Bobby, the oldest son, is a Marine and is deployed at this time. Jamie and Katie have been going to school and working on their careers. Kevin is a senior at Midlothian High School where he plays on the varsity soccer team.

People who have worked with me know the high degree of professionalism and integrity I exhibit in everything I do.  I inspire trust in all those who seek my counsel and have earned the admiration of my peers.  Above all, I will respect and honor this court as a trusted public servant and will work constantly to maintain the confidence in our legal system. I will be thorough in my evaluation of cases and will be diligent about following the law.
